Born in Naples in 2000, Cristina Galietto began studying guitar at the age of seven with her father, Alberto Galietto. She studied at the Conservatory “San Pietro a Majella” in Naples and later at the Conservatory “Domenico Cimarosa” in Avellino, where she graduated with full marks, honors and special mention. Her artistic development was further shaped through studies and masterclasses with renowned musicians including Aniello Desiderio, Carlos Bonell, Paolo Pegoraro and Łukasz Kuropaczewski. At the age of sixteen, she also spent a year in Brighton, UK, while studying privately with Carlos Bonell at the Royal College of Music in London. She subsequently continued her advanced studies at the Kunstuniversität Graz with Paolo Pegoraro and Łukasz Kuropaczewski.
Cristina has established herself through numerous international competition successes. Among her most notable achievements are First Prizes at the Andrés Segovia International Competition in Monheim am Rhein, the Rago International Guitar Competition in Stuttgart, the Uppsala International Guitar Festival and Competition, and the Eurostrings Competition in Petrer, Spain, in 2021. In the same year, she was awarded the prestigious “Chitarra d’Oro” at the International Guitar Meeting in Milan. In September 2026, she won the International Michele Pittaluga Classical Guitar Competition in Alessandria, one of the most established international competitions for classical guitar.
Her debut album, Avant l’Aube (Timespan Recordings), released in 2020, received international attention for its refined and expressive interpretations. She has performed extensively across Europe and in the United States, appearing as a soloist and chamber musician at international festivals and concert venues.
