There are occasions when the guitar becomes more than an instrument: it becomes a meeting point for musicians, makers, scholars and those who have devoted their lives to understanding its possibilities.
The Convegno Internazionale di Chitarra, now in its 31st edition, has been one of these places for three decades. Founded in 1996, the Convegno has established itself as an important gathering for the classical guitar in Italy, bringing together artists, teachers, researchers and luthiers and creating a space for dialogue around the instrument, its history and its future.
The 2026 edition will take place on 10 and 11 October at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma, under the theme Homenaje – Manuel de Falla e il nuovo Rinascimento della chitarra. As in previous editions, the programme will bring together concerts, conferences, presentations and an exhibition dedicated to the world of the guitar.
We are pleased to be part of this year's exhibition, alongside a distinguished selection of Italian and international luthiers.
For us, this is a particularly meaningful opportunity. The development of a guitar is a conversation between tradition, materials, craftsmanship, and the experience of the musicians who play it. To place our instruments in a setting where so many different approaches to guitar making can be encountered side by side is an opportunity to share, observe and continue that conversation.
We will be bringing the Wayra and Joia models to Rome. Although they follow different paths, both are part of the same ongoing search: to create concert instruments with their own character, capable of responding naturally to the individuality of the musician.
The lutherie exhibition offers visitors the rare opportunity to encounter, in one place, instruments born from very different traditions and contemporary visions. For guitarists, teachers, students and enthusiasts, it is an invitation to listen, look closely and discover the many ways in which the concert guitar continues to evolve.
We look forward to being part of these two days in Rome and to sharing the experience with everyone who comes to celebrate the guitar.
