During our participation in the Altamira Guitar Competition in Gorizia, we had the pleasure of meeting Alberto Marchioni and Alessandro Vatri, two guitarists who combined their musical and technical expertise to create something simple yet surprisingly effective: Doublerest, a classical guitar support produced by Bogaro & Clemente.
Premiered at REG 2025 in Rome, Doublerest immediately caught our attention for its stability, practicality, and smart design. It was clearly conceived to improve the guitarist’s experience, offering a solid, adjustable support that encourages proper posture—on stage as well as in the classroom.
What sets Doublerest apart is its dual-leg support, which provides excellent stability without the need to hold the instrument in place with the right arm. This allows for a more natural posture, greater freedom of movement, and helps prevent unnecessary muscular tension.
Additionally:
-
It’s easy to adjust in both height and angle;
-
It uses a secure suction system combined with a fabric strap to prevent accidental detachment during performance;
-
It’s compact, foldable, and elegantly minimal in design;
-
It helps students easily replicate the position recommended by their teacher at home.
The Creators
The idea was born from a real need—something experienced first-hand by those who both play and teach guitar.
Alberto Marchioni, guitarist and teacher, is active in both the concert and academic worlds. A graduate with top honors from the Udine Conservatory, he has also been the director of the Orchestra a Plettro Sanvitese since 2016.
Alessandro Vatri, guitarist and 3D designer, brought his technical skills to the table to turn this idea into a tangible and functional tool.
Together, they created Doublerest—a support that’s as straightforward as it is effective, born from real-life experience and a deep attention to detail.
As passionate supporters of classical guitar, we believe that tools like Doublerest can truly help musicians play with greater awareness and less physical strain. Posture is not a detail—it affects tone, technique, and overall well-being.
Doublerest struck us as one of those rare solutions born from truly listening to the needs of performers. And we’re glad we discovered it.
